We handle discounts at the order level so they do not will not be tagged by the product itself or any product tags that pertain to the product. The issue is when there are discounts on multiple item orders they may not get applied as cleanly due to our logic.
One great metric you can check is Discounts by Cohort. Basically you can get a break down of customer conversions over time based on total discounts. You can take this even further by segmenting the Cohort data into anything you want like certain Discount Codes, Source, Subscribers etc.
You can also pull key overall data around Discounts, Shipping Costs, or Refunds!
